"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Joshua 1:9

As we conclude this week of reflection on Caleb’s example, it’s time to ask the hard questions: What mountain is God calling you to climb? What giant is He calling you to face? What impossible thing is He asking you to trust Him for?

Maybe it’s time you stop playing it safe. Maybe it’s time you stop settling for the valley when God has a mountain waiting for you. Remember, Caleb waited 45 years for his moment. Some of us get frustrated after three weeks. He allowed God to grow him in faithfulness during that waiting time, so when the opportunity came, he was ready.

Caleb didn’t ask for easy – he asked for faithful. He didn’t ask for comfortable – he asked for God’s will. And at 85 years old, he was still saying, “Give me this mountain.” Stop asking God to make your life easier and start asking Him to make you stronger. Stop asking Him to remove the giants and start asking Him for the faith to face them.

Today's Challenge

What specific mountain is God calling you to claim? What would it look like to stop praying safe prayers and start trusting God for the impossible?

Prayer

Father, give me Caleb's heart that asks for mountains instead of valleys. Show me clearly what You're calling me to claim in faith, and give me the courage to pursue it regardless of the giants involved. I want to live a life that brings You glory, not one that seeks my own comfort. In Jesus' name, Amen.
