What does it mean to respect and recognize those who labor among us and have authority in the church, as mentioned in verse 12 from the sermon? How can members of the church show respect and appreciation to those who have been appointed as elders to rule the congregation?
Have you fallen into the trap of allowing “pod-pastors” to be your pseudo-elders instead of the elders in your local church? How so? How do you plan to stop that and submit yourselves to the elders God has given you? How can we help others who have fallen into that trap?
How can biblical counseling, which consists of confronting individuals out of concern for their biblical change, be practiced in the church, as described in the sermon? How can do a better job of helping and encouraging the “small-souled” in the local church? What are some practical ways we can go about this hard work? What are some Bible verses you can use to encourage the weak?
Do you struggle with forgiveness? How do you think doing good to those who have done you wrong will help you with forgiveness? What are some tangible things you can do, even this week, to show forgiveness to those who have wronged you?
