Revelation 12:10 calls Satan ‘the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night.’ He is constantly bringing charges against us. And here is the uncomfortable truth: his primary charge is often accurate. We are sinners. We are utterly unworthy of heaven. We have failed God more times than we can count.

So how do we overcome the dragon’s accusations? Not by denying them. We overcome by agreeing with them and pointing to Jesus. When Satan says, ‘You’re a sinner,’ you say, ‘You’re right, but Jesus died for sinners just like me.’ When Satan says, ‘You’re unworthy,’ you say, ‘Absolutely. But Jesus’ blood makes me worthy.’ We confess that we overcome the dragon not by our merit, not by our labor, but by the blood of the Lamb. Period.

Do you see the freedom in this? You do not have to defend yourself against the accuser. You do not have to prove you are not as bad as he says. You simply agree with the charge and point to your Advocate. ‘Yes, I am guilty. But Someone else has paid for my guilt. Yes, I am unworthy. But I am clothed in the righteousness of Another.’

This is why the sermon said, ‘Don’t fight him. Don’t argue with him.’ The moment you try to justify yourself, you have already lost. The moment you point to Jesus, the accuser is silenced. The blood of the Lamb is your answer to every accusation. This is why we need Christ. This is why the Incarnation was essential for us.
