Learning on the way
Have you ever begun to see God’s Providence at work in your life? Tell us how and in what circumstance. How did seeing God’s Providence take shape affect your feelings, outlook, and actions?
Tell us about a time God has provided for you in desperate circumstances (financially or otherwise). How did God do it? Was it by giving you more than needed or just enough? How has that impacted how you trust and serve God? How has it impacted how you serve others?
How do you react when you begin to see God’s Providence at work? Do you tend to become complacent and fatalistic (“God’s going to do it anyway so there’s no need for me to do anything”)? Or do you become diligent (like Ruth)? If we find ourselves leaning towards complacency, why do we think that’s true? What can we do to be encouraged to be diligent when we see the hand of God at work in our lives?
Give instances of how Jesus has been your provider, protector, and redeemer. Given His provision to us, why do we struggle to trust and obey Him? What can we do to build up our confidence in Jesus, our redeemer? How can we help unbelievers come to trust Him and help believers trust Him more?
