Learning on The Way
What are some things in life that make you fearful? What is your immediate reaction to these things? Have you noticed that as you mature as a Christian you are more prone to run to God for refuge and protection?
How do you think things like prayer, sharing your difficulties with people in your small group, making sure you are worshipping and serving in connection with other Christians, are, in essence, placing your trust in God?
What are some ways that you lean on your own understanding and what have been some of the consequences of those actions? What are some things you can do to try to move away from those things and place your trust in God sooner?
Share some of the ways you have looked back and knew that God had protected you in a troubling circumstance without you realizing it at the time (Psalm 91:7-8). How do those times inform the way you respond to times of trouble now? How do they inform the way you encourage your brothers and sisters in Christ?
