Which of the four C’s (complaint, confidence, calm, cry) David expressed in Psalm 3 do you find comes easiest to you? Which one do you struggle with the most? How would your life look different if you complained to God more and people less?
David used the illustration of God being his shield. The sermon talked about the idea of a person in David’s rank and position having a shield-bearer to protect his blind spot in battle. Besides God, do you have anyone that is helping to protect your spiritual blind spots? Who are they and why did you choose them? what characteristics do you look for in a shield-bearer?
The amount of connection between David, the anointed king, and Jesus, God’s anointed king to come, was overwhelming throughout this psalm. What are some of your favorite scriptures from the Old Testament that point forward to Jesus? What makes them your favorite?
