Learning on the Way

On a typical moment-by-moment day of your life, where do you turn for contentment, satisfaction, and fulfillment? Is it the world? What is your “Spotify”? Why do you find contentment in those things?

How have you heard 4:13 used incorrectly? Have you ever used it incorrectly? What does getting your strength from God mean to you?

Do you feel like you are often led by your emotions? What is your default emotion? Anger, anxiety, fear, etc. How can taking those feelings and thoughts captive help you escape being led only by your emotions? How can you take those thoughts and emotions captive to obey Jesus?

Where do you scramble for high ground when the going gets tough? Does it help to know that God is with you in the valleys? Can you trust God enough to stay in the valley and see what he has for you there?

Does it bother you that what you are going through, good or bad, might not be about you at all and might be for the benefit of someone else? How does this change your perspective? Do you think you are too self-focused? When was the last time you got in the trenches with someone? What is preventing you from doing that now?
