Learning on the Way

Where do think you’d be if God had not given you a second chance? Tell us about one of your second chances.

When the concept of God’s judgment is removed from the equation, individuals are left to define their own moral compass, leading to subjective interpretations of right and wrong. Discuss the dangers of this and why maintaining a biblical understanding of judgment is essential. What are some consequences of throwing out God’s judgment that we see around us?

The sermon outlined the process of biblical confession and repentance. How do these steps differ from a simple “I’m sorry” approach, and why are they important?

  1. Address everyone involved 2. Avoid if, but, and maybe 3. Admit specifically (Both attitudes and actions) 4. Acknowledge the hurt 5. Accept the consequences 6. Alter your behavior (Change your attitudes and actions) 7. Ask for forgiveness 8. Allow Time

Has God ever given you severe mercy? In what ways have you seen God’s judgment as an expression of His love aimed at restoring people to a right relationship with Him? How does the cross of Christ demonstrate God’s judgment and His love, and how does this create an opportunity for grace?
