Learning on the Way
Do you feel a similar urgency as Paul to put off the old way of living and live out the new life in Christ? Are you asking the Lord to help you with this? Are you asking other Christians around you to help you with this?
Do you think you get the order backwards and attempt to put off the old self in order to learn Christ? Do you act as if you can learn your way out of sin? When you start thinking or acting like that, what are some things you do to get back on the right track of trusting Christ, so you have the right frame of heart and mind to learn how you ought to live?
The examples Paul gives for putting away the old self and putting on the new self are “other oriented.” How is your life other oriented or do you serve yourself more than you serve others? If you serve yourself more, why is that?
