Learning On the Way

Do you fear the events Paul describes happening at the end of the age? If so, why do you think that is?

What are some ways you become “shaken in mind and alarmed”? What circumstances cause you to feel that way? What role do you think deception and falsehood play in you being unsettled and anxious? What are some biblical truths that you can use to combat falsehood and deception?

How much do you currently love the truth of God’s Word? How is that love demonstrated (how do you live it out)? Talk about some specific ways you can increase your belief in and love for the truth of the Word of God? How can your small group assist you and hold you accountable in those things?

Why do you think the wicked and perishing are easily deceived by signs and wonders? Given the biblical warnings about signs and wonders (2 Thess. 2:9-12; Luke 11:27-30; Matthew 12:38-43; 1 Corinthians 1:18-25), why do you think people are so prone to love them instead of the truth of God’s Word? How can we guard our hearts from being deceived by signs and wonders? How can we cultivate a deep love for the truth of God’s Word?

How does the hope of the Gospel settle your heart and mind, even in these times of chaos we live in or see coming in the near future? What role does/should your local church play in that?
