Learning on the Way
Do you have “mini-agendas” that you place above your love for Christ that challenge the unity of the body? What are they? What can you do to love Jesus more and put those agendas in their proper place?
Based on Ephesians 4 how does sound doctrine protect the church? Where do you need to grow in learning and applying sound doctrine?
How has pride hindered you from developing the Christ-like qualities of humility and patience? What are you doing to overcome your pride and to become more like Christ? How can we as a small group help you grow in humility and patience?
Based on the text and sermon what does it look like to speak the truth in love? Do you struggle with jumping too quickly to correction that you fail to adequately listen to the person God has placed in front of you? (see Proverbs 18:13) Are you comfortable sharing and confessing your sin to those that are confessing their sin to you? If not, why do you think that is?
What does it look like to have a harmony of shared lives with people? Do you strive for peace or are you passive about it (it’s nice to have peace, but you’re not going to work for it)? Why is it important for us to strive for peace?
