Daily Devotional
"For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places."
Ephesians 6:12
We live in times that can provoke anger and fear. Recent events may have troubled you, and rightfully so. But as believers, we must remember that our battle isn’t against flesh and blood. We don’t fight with the weapons of the weak – violence, hatred, or retaliation. We’re armed with something completely different.
We’re armed with truth. We’re armed with courage. We need men and women who will have the courage to speak truth in a world that increasingly despises it. This isn’t about speaking “your truth” – it’s about speaking THE truth. And to speak truth, you must know truth, which means spending time in God’s Word.
Our enemy will do anything to keep us from the things that matter most: getting in the Word, going to church, praying with God’s people, building families, and taking our stand for what’s right. These aren’t passive activities – they’re powerful acts of spiritual warfare.
Today's Challenge
How can you practically "escalate courage" and truth-telling in your daily life? What spiritual disciplines do you need to prioritize to be equipped for this battle?
Prayer
God, help me to see that the real battle is spiritual, not physical. Equip me with Your truth and give me courage to speak it boldly. Protect me from the temptation to fight with the world's weapons instead of Your armor. Make me a warrior for truth in my generation. Amen.
