Learning on the Way
Do you live for God to gain heaven, or do you live for God because Christ has gained heaven for you? What’s the difference? How will it make a difference in your life?
What is the relation between setting our minds on Christ and “putting on” the attributes of Christ (Col. 3:12-17)? How do we set our minds on Christ? How do we “put on” Christlikeness? What do these things look like in your life?
Talk about some sins you put to death in your life. Talk about other sins that came to light as you put those sins to death. How did you respond to that fact? How did the Lord help you in that time of potential discouragement?
How does understanding who Christ is, what He has done for us, and who we are in Him, shape the way we think and act? Talk through a few examples, if you can think of them.
Has knowing and appreciating Christ deeply made you kind, compassionate, humble, and meek towards others, especially your brothers and sisters in Christ? If it has not, why do you think that is?
In what ways does your worship on Sunday flow out into your life the rest of the week?
