Learning on the Way

Does the thought of the day of the Lord bring comfort to you or does it bring fear? Why do you think that is (either way)?

What are some things you do to ensure you live in such a way as to be always be ready for Jesus’ return? If you find yourself getting “drunk and drowsy” like those in darkness, what are some steps you take to get back on track?

How do we stay steadfast in laboring and battling in faith, hope, and love? What do you think that looks like practically in our lives? Why do you think it’s so difficult to remain steadfast in faith, hope, and love?

1 John1:9-10 teaches us how to walk in the light. When you evaluate your life based on these verses do you find yourself daily walking in confession and repentance? (Examples: Parents are you confessing and repenting to your kids for the times when your “me time” is more important than spending time with your kids? Or for favoring one child over the other? Husbands are you confessing and repenting to your wife when your anger leads to outbursts of rage or committing silent murder by refusing to talk to them? Wives are you confessing and repenting of nagging your husband?) Or do you walk in dark by saying you have no sin and refusing to confess and repent? (Parents do you refuse to see any sin in your parenting? Husbands and wives do you blame your behavior on your spouse refusing to acknowledge your own choice to sin?)
