Learning on the way
How does the character and service of Paul, Silas (Silvanus), and Timothy inspire you to serve the Lord better? How are you using your gifts to spread the Gospel and to serve your local church?
We acknowledge the offense of the Gospel to unbelievers. We also acknowledge that we can sometimes obscure the goodness of the Gospel by our prejudices and traditions. What are some ways we obscure the goodness of the Gospel and what can we do to change them? What are some ways we can work to ensure the Gospel shines brightly towards unbelievers?
In what ways does the future hope we have in Jesus (eschatology) inform the way you live your life? In what ways do you fail to live out your belief that you are a citizen of another Kingdom (the kingdom of Jesus)? If Jesus were physically and visibly ruling in this world, would you live the same or differently? How so?
Talk about times when you were fruitful in evangelism and discipleship and times when you were not. Did your level of faithfulness rise and fall with your perceived fruitfulness? How does the hope we have in Jesus determine the way we make disciples of Jesus?
